This event was organized in response to repeated harassment and death threats on AO3 fics for not tagging "Top Shen Jiu"
Event Guidelines
✦ Must be 18+ to participate
✦ Tag your work as #SpiteJiu
✦ Doesn’t have to follow the daily prompts at all
✦ Needs to embody the spirit of the challenge “Top Shen Jiu” including but not limited to him being a switch, dom top, stone top, non-penetrative dom, etc
✦ No character/ship bashing
✦ No bashing of other artists or writersAdditionally:
✦ It's up to the individual participant's discretion if they want to tag "Top Shen Jiu" or not. That's always been the freedom fic writers have and it was why we started this event in protest of being harassed to tag top/bottom. A possible compromise if you want to let readers know the top/bottom isn't outright tagged is adding an ambiguous tag like "creator is leaving elements untagged", "Sex Position Roles Deliberately Untagged", or "top/bottom left untagged".
✦ Domming =/= Topping. Shen Jiu domming from the bottom, while juicy, does not follow the spirit of the challenge. You can still make it, just not as a submission for this event
✦ You can have non-traditional top roles such as “omega shen jiu” or “shen jiu has a pussy” as long as he remains a top
✦ Some Dead Dove or Dark Theme content has been included among the prompts. It does not need to be included in your work if you don’t want it to. And be sure to tag this or give warnings if you do include it

Why is this out of spite?
There have been repeated questions about the motivations and execution of this event raised with the concern that it will cause more hate within the fandom.✦ Spite can be a force for joy ✦
It's an ancient tradition of humans to use spite as a positive motivating force. That school counselor who said you'd never graduate college spite-motivates you to get degree. Wanting to do stuff better than another person or be better off than them. And in this case, someone dislikes the thing you're creating so you make more of it.
This is not about spite-fic or character bashing or hating Bottom Shen Jiu fans. This is a healthy outlet to turn our hurt from harassment into joy.✦ If you don't like something, don't read it ✦
You cannot control what other people do, only your own actions. No one else is responsible for your emotions. If you really can't handle the possibility you'll see something you don't like, then avoid untagged works entirely.
You also can simply leave the webpage when you do find content unsettling and upsetting rather than continue to engage with it. There is no reason to harass or send death threats to writers making something for a different audience than you.✦ We don't comply with harassment ✦
By complying with the demands of those sending harassment, we give them power and authority over us. We will defy their requests and we will not allow them to have a space in our community, as doing so would allow them to attack more writers and chase good people out of the fandom.
It's also far more effective to respond to harassment with creation and positive community events.✦ We have since changed the rule about No Tagging ✦
Many people were interested in creating more TopJiu content but were wary or adverse to the rule about leaving "Top Shen Jiu" untagged. So to encourage more people to join, going forward, it will be up to the individual participant's discretion if they want to tag "top shen jiu" or not.
